Sgor Gaoith. The focal point of the week was a hiking trip to Aviemore with friends from school. What ought to have been a summery hike in the cool mountain breeze was in fact pretty wintry vs the other recent weather. Luckily we were well prepared and had a great time ticking off another two Munros. We also experienced a deserted Glen Feshie, all while having a long overdue catch up.
Making Time. I’m reading less than I'd like to. This week I’ve started making time for ‘Make Time’, a book recommended to me by a friend some months back. I picked the book coasting off some recent anti-interruption and phone detoxing energy. I also deleted my Instagram account (after some years of building a personal replacement).
Curry Club. I created a simple site at curry-club.org for the informal lunch gathering of curry lovers which forms an important part of my weekly schedule. It’s just a markdown file at the moment but I have ideas for some fun features…
Food and Drink. This week I enjoyed a rainy breakfast date with a nearby friend as well as a bright & busy pub trip with some ex-colleagues come close friends.
Exploring with Wikipedia. I’m enjoying using the Wikipedia app on my phone to read about nearby points of interest. I like fast things with blue links and the app is very much that.
Lumoed. I had my first Lumo experience at 5:48 on Friday morning. It’s (very) cheap and cheerful. Since the trains leave at such odd times I’m unsure when my next chance will be. My return trip was via plane from Dyce Airport where the security queue had zero other passengers. I also got to see a helicopter landing pretty close which was fun.
Quiet Mark. I bought a noisy fan and replaced it with a quieter one to sleep with over the summer. I learned about Quiet Mark in the process which seemed like a great idea.
